Effortless...

Effortless (Thoughtless, #2)I can't wait to start book 3! You know a book is good when you yell out loud, "WTF, Kiera!" There better be a happy ending at the end of book 3 because my heart has already been ripped out about a million times in books 1 & 2! I wish I could find a man as sweet and thoughtful as Kellen Kyle! He better not make me regret that statement in book 3!

My friends that liked Colleen Hoover and Rebecca Donovan's books will truly enjoy S.C. Stephens books!

From Goodreads.com:
After being caught in the middle of a love triangle which led to a devastating betrayal, Kiera pledged to learn from the mistakes she’d made. She was determined to never again inflict that kind of pain on anyone, especially the soulful, talented man who held her heart. But life offers new challenges for every relationship, and when Kiera’s love is put to the ultimate test, will it survive? Love is easy . . . trust is hard.

Thoughtless...

Thoughtless (Thoughtless, #1)WOW! I finished this book at 4 a.m. I doubt I will be able to sneak this one onto the library shelves. I wish Amazon would have mailed me the old cover. I can't wait to start book 2...that's on tonight's agenda. I don't think Kellan Kyle quite compares to the other men in my "book affairs" but he isn't too shabby! The hardest part for me with this book was it was so long. I had a hard time feeling like I was truly making a dent in this 530 page novel.

From goodreads.com:
For almost two years now, Kiera's boyfriend, Denny, has been everything she's ever wanted: loving, tender and endlessly devoted to her. When they head off to a new city to start their lives together, Denny at his dream job and Kiera at a top-notch university, everything seems perfect. Then an unforeseen obligation forces the happy couple apart.

Feeling lonely, confused, and in need of comfort, Kiera turns to an unexpected source—a local rock star named Kellan Kyle. At first, he's purely a friend that she can lean on, but as her loneliness grows, so does their relationship. And then one night everything changes...and none of them will ever be the same.

The Storyteller...

The StorytellerI'm always excited for the release of Jodi Picoult's newest novel! This one was no different! I'm not much for historical novels but this one was okay. I finally figured out what was going on with the storytelling and pieces in italics around page 270. I'll be anxious to discuss this one with one of my students when she returns from spring break.

From goodreads.com:
Sage Singer befriends an old man who's particularly beloved in her community. Josef Weber is everyone's favorite retired teacher and Little League coach. They strike up a friendship at the bakery where Sage works. One day he asks Sage for a favor: to kill him. Shocked, Sage refuses…and then he confesses his darkest secret - he deserves to die, because he was a Nazi SS guard. Complicating the matter? Sage's grandmother is a Holocaust survivor.

What do you do when evil lives next door? Can someone who's committed a truly heinous act ever atone for it with subsequent good behavior? Should you offer forgiveness to someone if you aren't the party who was wronged? And most of all - if Sage even considers his request - is it murder, or justice?

Unravel Me...

Unravel Me (Shatter Me, #2)I loved the first book in this series! This one was EXTREMELY disappointing to me! In fact, I gave up on the book with about 200 pages left. I may have to give it a second chance this summer. I decied it was best I passed it along to a few of the students that have been waiting to read the book.

it's almost
time for war.

Juliette has escaped to Omega Point. It is a place for people like her—people with gifts—and it is also the headquarters of the rebel resistance.

She's finally free from The Reestablishment, free from their plan to use her as a weapon, and free to love Adam. But Juliette will never be free from her lethal touch.

Or from Warner, who wants Juliette more than she ever thought possible.

In this exhilarating sequel to Shatter Me, Juliette has to make life-changing decisions between what she wants and what she thinks is right. Decisions that might involve choosing between her heart—and Adam's life.
