Truly, Madly, Deadly...

Truly, Madly, DeadlyPicked this book up off of Amazon for something quick to read. It was a decent mystery novel. Easy read that will keep you guessing until the last few chapters.

From Goodreads.com:

Thousand Words...

Thousand WordsA must read novel for all teens regarding sexting! Super quick read! I was surprised how low the rating for this book was on Good Reads. Not my favorite book by any means, but still told a great story!

From Goodreads.com:
Ashleigh's boyfriend, Kaleb, is about to leave for college, and Ashleigh is worried that he'll forget about her while he's away. So at a legendary end-of-summer pool party, Ashleigh's friends suggest she text him a picture of herself -- sans swimsuit -- to take with him. Before she can talk herself out of it, Ashleigh strides off to the bathroom, snaps a photo in the full-length mirror, and hits "send."

But when Kaleb and Ashleigh go through a bad breakup, Kaleb takes revenge by forwarding the text to his baseball team. Soon the photo has gone viral, attracting the attention of the school board, the local police, and the media. As her friends and family try to distance themselves from the scandal, Ashleigh feels completely alone -- until she meets Mack while serving her court-ordered community service. Not only does Mack offer a fresh chance at friendship, but he's the one person in town who received the text of Ashleigh's photo -- and didn't look.

Acclaimed author Jennifer Brown brings readers a gripping novel about honesty and betrayal, redemption and friendship, attraction and integrity, as Ashleigh finds that while a picture may be worth a thousand words . . . it doesn't always tell the whole story.

Before You Go...

Before You Go (Before You Go, #1)Purchased this one at Target with my own money while I was waiting on a few arrivals from Amazon.com. I had seen this book on several of my lists and thought I would give it a try. The book has a decent storyline and reads pretty fast. I wanted more from the book. It definitely has some lessons that our students can learn. I'm going to need a second reader on this one to decide if I can put it on the shelves.

From Goodreads.com:
Paralyzed by the past and terrified of the future, Tabitha Kelly is broken.

After a public sex scandal at her college, Tabby moves to a new city with a new school, convinced she can start over. But she soon realizes the changes are not enough. Tabby must take action to help her heal and move on from the past.

And though it sounds crazy, she believes a one-night stand is the best way to take back what’s hers. If she can choose where, when, and most importantly, who … maybe she can regain control.

First, she needs a willing participant.

She finds more than that when she meets Noah Adler.
Unfortunately, she can’t go through with it. And when she tries to forget about the plan—and the guy—it becomes impossible.

Noah quickly weaves his way into her new life and her heart. But as he comes dangerously close to discovering her secret, Tabby’s at risk of losing it all.

Beautiful Stranger...

Beautiful Stranger (Beautiful Bastard, #2)Super fast read! This was a great second book in the series. I will definitely continue reading this series. This book was purchased with my own money and will not go on the library shelves. This is my favorite of the three books I've read in this series. I loved Max's character! If you enjoyed the Gideon Cross books, you will love this series!

From Goodreads.com:
A charming British Playboy. A girl determined to finally live. And a secret liaison revealed in all too vivid color. Book two in the NYT Bestselling series.

Escaping a cheating ex, finance whiz Sara Dillon's moved to New York City and is looking for excitement without a lot of strings attached. So meeting the irresistible, sexy Brit at a dance club should have meant nothing more than a night's fun. But the manner--and speed--with which he melts her inhibitions turns him from a one-time hookup and into her Beautiful Stranger.

The whole city knows Max Stella loves women, not that he's ever found one he particularly wants to keep around. Despite pulling in plenty with his Wall Street bad boy charm, it's not until Sara--and the wild photos she lets him take of her--that he starts wondering if there's someone for him outside of the bedroom.

Hooking up in places where anybody could catch them, the only thing scarier for Sara than getting caught in public is having Max get too close in private.

Beautiful Bitch...

Beautiful Bitch (Beautiful Bastard, #1.5)Bought this one at Target to read during the summer. This book will not go on the library shelves!

Novel that falls between Beautiful Bastard and Beautiful Stranger. Mainly told from Bennett's point of view. Super short read...only 160 pages. You will be able to read this one in one setting. Make sure you have Beautiful Stranger on hand because you will want to immediately start reading it!

From Goodreads.com:
Picking up where Beautiful Bastard left off, Chloe Mills and Bennett Ryan continue their steamy, combative relationship.

Just when Chloe’s career starts to take off, Bennett wishes it would all slow down long enough to spend a wild night alone with his girlfriend. But after he refuses to take no for an answer, Chloe and Bennett find themselves with two plane tickets, one French Villa, and a surprising conversation that, predictably, leaves them wrestling under the covers.

Out of Breath...

Out of Breath (Breathing, #3)The much anticipated final installment in the Rebecca Donovan Breathing series. It did not read as fast as the first two books for me but was still a really good read! The last 150 pages were the best part of the book. My favorite part of the book: "It's just a dream, it's just a dream, it's just a dream...wake up and live." I would suggest rereading book 2 if it has been a while since you've picked it up. There were a few things I had forgotten. I hadn't read the books since December/January. Not sure what I will pick up now to read.

From Goodreads.com:
Emma leaves Weslyn and everyone in it behind to attend Stanford University, just as she always intended. A shell of her former self, she is not the same girl. She is broken, and the only way that she’ll be whole again is through forgiveness. Emma must find a way to forgive herself and recognize her own worth before she can receive the love she deserves. This final installment will have readers holding their breath until the very last page.

Beautiful Bastard...

Beautiful Bastard (Beautiful Bastard, #1)This book was a good distraction while I waited for Out of Breath to arrive. I happened to come across this book while browsing the shelves in Target. I will definitely be reading the rest of this series. This book reminded me a lot of the plot from Beautiful Disaster. I still liked the book and it was an incredibly fast read!

From Goodreads.com:
An ambitious intern.
A perfectionist executive.
And a whole lot of name calling.

Whip-smart, hardworking, and on her way to an MBA, Chloe Mills has only one problem: her boss, Bennett Ryan. He's exacting, blunt, inconsiderate—and completely irresistible. A Beautiful Bastard.

Bennett has returned to Chicago from France to take a vital role in his family's massive media business. He never expected that the assistant who'd been helping him from abroad was the gorgeous, innocently provocative—completely infuriating—creature he now has to see every day. Despite the rumors, he's never been one for a workplace hookup. But Chloe's so tempting he's willing to bend the rules—or outright smash them—if it means he can have her. All over the office.

As their appetites for one another increase to a breaking point, Bennett and Chloe must decide exactly what they're willing to lose in order to win each other.

Taking Chances...

Taking Chances (Taking Chances, #1)Just when you think you're done crying, you will cry some more. Don't know that I've cried this much in one book in so many different places! You'll read one page, turn to start a new chapter and feel like you've been punched in the stomach. You'll know exactly what page I'm talking about when you read it! Trying to decide if this one will go on the library shelves or not. May need a second opinion on this one. Super quick read! I read it in two settings.

From Goodreads.com:
Her first year away is turning out to be nearly perfect, but one weekend of giving in to heated passion will change everything.

Eighteen-year-old Harper has grown up under the thumb of her career marine father. Ready to live life her own way and to experience things she's only ever heard of from the jarheads in her father's unit, she's on her way to college at San Diego State University.

She finds herself being torn in two as she quickly falls in love with both her new boyfriend, Brandon, and her roommate's brother, Chase. Despite their dangerous looks and histories, both men adore Harper and would do anything for her, including taking a step back if it would mean she'd be happy.

The Girl Who Was Supposed to Die...

The Girl Who Was Supposed to DieSat down to see if this book was any good on Monday afternoon. After a few hours, I was done with this book. It doesn't have a very good rating on Goodreads, but I truly enjoyed it. I wouldn't go so far as giving it a five star rating, but it was a super easy and quick read. The students at our library who are reluctant readers and enjoy mystery/thriller books will enjoy this one.

From Goodreads.com:
“Take her out back and finish her off.”

She doesn’t know who she is. She doesn’t know where she is, or why. All she knows when she comes to in a ransacked cabin is that there are two men arguing over whether or not to kill her.

And that she must run.

In her riveting style, April Henry crafts a nail-biting thriller involving murder, identity theft, and biological warfare. Follow Cady and Ty (her accidental savior turned companion), as they race against the clock to stay alive.

The Heist...

The Heist (O'Hare and Fox #1)The new novel by Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg was just okay for me until the last 100 pages. I knew this would be a quick read for me as Evanovich never fails. It wasn't the humor of the Stephanie Plum novels but will be a nice series to read while waiting for a new Plum book. There were almost too many characters to follow in the beginning but became easier in the end. I have a few fellow coworkers that will be anxious to read this book as they too are Evanovich followers.

From Goodreads.com:
FBI Special Agent Kate O’Hare is known for her fierce dedication and discipline on the job, chasing down the world’s most wanted criminals and putting them behind bars. Her boss thinks she is tenacious and ambitious; her friends think she is tough, stubborn, and maybe even a bit obsessed. And while Kate has made quite a name for herself for the past five years, the only name she’s cared about is Nicolas Fox—an international crook she wants in more ways than one.

Audacious, handsome, and dangerously charming, Nicolas Fox is a natural con man, notorious for running elaborate scams on very high-profile people. At first he did it for the money. Now he does it for the thrill. He knows that the FBI has been hot on his trail—particularly Kate O’Hare, who has been watching his every move. For Nick, there’s no greater rush than being pursued by a beautiful woman . . . even one who aims to lock him up. But just when it seems that Nicolas Fox has been captured for good, he pulls off his greatest con of all: he convinces the FBI to offer him a job, working side by side with Special Agent Kate O’Hare.

Problem is, teaming up to stop a corrupt investment banker who’s hiding on a private island in Indonesia is going to test O’Hare’s patience and Fox’s skill. Not to mention the skills of their ragtag team made up of flamboyant actors, wanted wheelmen, and Kate’s dad. High-speed chases, pirates, and Toblerone bars are all in a day’s work . . . if O’Hare and Fox don’t kill each other first.
