This Girl...

This Girl (Slammed, #3)The third book in the Slammed series was just as good as Slammed and Point of Retreat! This Girl is told from Will's point of view. I found this book interesting to see his thoughts and feelings towards Layken. Although the story mainly is a repeat of book 1 & 2, it is still worth the time and effort to read it. You won't be disappointed, and you'll enjoy the poetry just as much this time around.

From Goodreads.com:
There are two sides to every love story. Now hear Will’s.

Colleen Hoover’s New York Times bestselling Slammed series has brought countless readers to their knees with a whirlwind of love, passion, and heartache.

Layken and Will’s love has managed to withstand the toughest of circumstances and the young lovers, now married, are beginning to feel safe and secure in their union. As much as Layken relishes their new life together, she finds herself wanting to know everything there is to know about her husband, even though Will makes it clear he prefers to keep the painful memories of the past where they belong. Still, he can’t resist his wife’s pleas and so he begins to untangle his side of the story, revealing for the first time his most intimate feelings and thoughts, retelling both the good and bad moments, and sharing a few shocking confessions of his own from the time when they first met.

In This Girl, Will tells the story of their complicated relationship from his point of view. Their future rests on how well they deal with the past in this final installment of the beloved Slammed series.

The 5th Wave...

The 5th Wave (The 5th Wave, #1)Started SUPER slow for me! Took me almost 150-175 pages to actually get into this book. I did a lot of skimming! I picked this book up because it was supposed to be the book of the summer for young adults. It does pick up and get much better at the end of the book and there will definitely be a second book.

From Goodreads.com:
The Passage meets Ender’s Game in an epic new series from award-winning author Rick Yancey.

After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one.

Now, it’s the dawn of the 5th wave, and on a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs from Them. The beings who only look human, who roam the countryside killing anyone they see. Who have scattered Earth’s last survivors. To stay alone is to stay alive, Cassie believes, until she meets Evan Walker. Beguiling and mysterious, Evan Walker may be Cassie’s only hope for rescuing her brother—or even saving herself. But Cassie must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up.

This is What Happy Looks Like...

I enjoyed this book! The story starts with an e-mail that goes to the wrong e-mail address. There are e-mail messages at the beginning of each chapter. The chapters are told from alternating points of view which adds to the story.

From Destiny Card Catalog:
Perfect strangers Graham Larkin and Ellie O'Neill meet online when Graham accidentally sends Ellie an e-mail. The two 17-year-olds strike up an e-mail relationship from opposite sides of the country without even knowing each other's first names--or that Graham is a famous actor, or the big secret in Ellie's family tree. When the relationship changes from online to in-person, they learn whether it can be the real thing.

The Distance Between Us...

The Distance Between UsThis book will be a hit in the library with the girls! Super easy read that just has a good storyline! I loved the sarcasm of Caymen's character!

From Goodreads.com:
Seventeen-year-old Caymen Meyers studies the rich like her own personal science experiment, and after years of observation she’s pretty sure they’re only good for one thing—spending money on useless stuff, like the porcelain dolls in her mother’s shop.

So when Xander Spence walks into the store to pick up a doll for his grandmother, it only takes one glance for Caymen to figure out he’s oozing rich. Despite his charming ways and that he’s one of the first people who actually gets her, she’s smart enough to know his interest won’t last. Because if there’s one thing she’s learned from her mother’s warnings, it’s that the rich have a short attention span. But Xander keeps coming around, despite her best efforts to scare him off. And much to her dismay, she's beginning to enjoy his company.

She knows her mom can’t find out—she wouldn’t approve. She’d much rather Caymen hang out with the local rocker who hasn’t been raised by money. But just when Xander’s attention and loyalty are about to convince Caymen that being rich isn’t a character flaw, she finds out that money is a much bigger part of their relationship than she’d ever realized. And that Xander’s not the only one she should’ve been worried about.
